Description

What makes this guitar special? This is a super unique Fender model that was only produced for a few years both times it was made, and has a small cult following for good reason. With its shorter scale and smaller nut width, it has a very unique feel, somewhat similar to the Mustangs and Duo-Sonics, except it comes loaded with two Atomic humbuckers instead of single-coils. The pickups sound great in both positions, outputting a good amount of full and rich response with some extra sparkle and chime in the bridge. The smaller neck is super easy to move around, especially with its C shape profile, and plays great from the nut up through the cutaway. In addition, this specific guitar came out about half way through the initial production period, keeping true to the original specs it was designed with, as opposed to the reissues that followed a couple years later.

Condition: This guitar is in very good condition overall. It does show some small nicks, dings, and dents, as well as light scratches and normal wear, but still looks great for a 15-year-old guitar and plays the same. The frets are only lightly worn and still have a ton of playing time left in them. The neck is comfortable and the truss rod is functioning.

Body: Double cutaway contoured offset body in Black. 4-ply tortoiseshell pickguard. Fixed bridge/tailpiece with individually adjustable saddles. Chrome knurled control knobs.

Neck: Medium round C shape maple neck and rosewood fingerboard with white dot inlays. Vintage-style tuning machines. 1 5/8” nut width. 24.75” scale length.

Electronics: Fender Atomic humbuckers in the neck and bridge. 2 x volume, 2 x tone. 3-way pickup selector.

Weight: 8 lbs 2.8 oz

Playability/Sound: The smaller nut width and shorter scale give this guitar a very unique feel, but it plays beautifully nonetheless. The Atomic humbuckers are full and rich and have great clean tone, but do just as well with a bit of drive, or any other effect, really.

Case: Includes hardshell case.
