What makes this guitar special: Made for only a few years in the late 90’s, the SG-I (later renamed the SG-X, without any spec changes) is a rare and sought after piece. Featuring a 500t humbucker and coil tap switch, it offers terrific versatility and tonal offerings typically not found in an SG. This configuration in tandem with the 24 fret semi-chunky neck makes it a perfect go-to guitar for just about any genre. It’s light weight makes it perfect for long nights of playing, too-so all in all, there’s very little this piece is lacking. It comes professionally setup by our in-house luthier, and will arrive ready to play right out of the box.
Cosmetic condition: Excellent shape, with a few surface and playwear scratches, and some pickwear on the guard.
Body: Solid mahogany body in dark wineburst finish with 3-ply black pickguard, tune-o-matic bridge, and chrome wraparound stopbar tailpiece.
Weight: 7 lb, 6.8 oz
Neck: Semi chunky mahogany neck with white side dots and pearl dot inlays. Nicely variegated rosewood fingerboard is in great shape, and frets show almost no visible wear. Headstock sports a black overlay with gold Gibson logo and chrome sealed tuners in perfect working condition. 1 11/16” nut width, 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight and notes ring clear up and down the length of the fingerboard.
Electronics: Single 500t humbucker (14.53K ohms) with mini-toggle coil tap and black tophat knobs, 1x tone, 1x volume.
