Description
What makes this guitar special: This is a very early R6 which predates the VOS models. The gold finish has a soft, mellow look which combines well with the all-nickel hardware. The beefy neck with aged binding & killer sounding P-90s really make this guitar a monster player, with tons of tone & sustain that seems to last for days. The guitar has been professionally set up by us with fresh strings & low action, so it plays & sounds fantastic!
Cosmetic Condition: Aside from a couple of small chips in the cutaway horn, the guitar is in excellent condition overall. There are other various minor dents & dings along with mild surface scratches, but for the most part the guitar is pretty clean. There's a little bit of hazing in the finish on the front of the headstock just under the Les Paul script.
Neck: Chunky mahogany neck with aged binding & black side-dots. Beautiful rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl trapezoid inlays. Frets are in great shape with no wear. Gibson Deluxe tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod is in perfect working condition.
Body: Solid mahogany body & maple top in gold finish with aged binding. Stopbar tailpiece & Tune-O-Matic bridge with nickel hardware. Single-ply cream pickguard is in great shape with no cracks. There are a few very tiny cracks in the jackplate near the screws. Guitar weighs 9 lbs 10.1 oz.
Pickups: Gibson P-90 single coils with cream covers. Bridge - 7.75K ohms; Neck - 7.81K ohms. Dual volume & tone controls with gold "top hat" knobs; 3-way toggle switch. All electronics are in perfect working condition.
