Description

Condition: This is a great playing Flying V. Gibson has currently ceased production on Flying V guitars so it has become a little difficult to obtain them. There are scratches, nicks, dings, dents and chips throughout this guitar. There are scratches and dings throughout the top and edges of the guitar. There are some pick scratches on the pickguard and top finish. The left side bridge post has a very slight amount of play but is staying in place fine and causing no issues whatsoever. There are some scratches, scuffs and buckle rash throughout the back; some of which have caused a slightly hazy appearance in the finish when held in the light. The very top edge of the pickguard beneath the fingerboard has been partially cut by hand. It is unknown why this work was done but it is visible in the unevenness of the cut. The left side screw hole has a small crack in it around where the work was done. This is merely cosmetic. Fingerboard and frets have moderate play wear with slightly heavier play wear towards the lower registers. The neck is very straight. There is a slight amount of relief in the treble side than there is the bass side but overall it is mostly straight and perfectly comfortable to play. The truss rod functions fine. All electronics and parts are in perfect working condition.

Body: Solid Flying V shaped mahogany body in translucent cherry finish. Stop-Bar tailpiece, Tune-O-Matic bridge skirted controls knobs with silver inserts and a 4-ply white pickguard.

Neck: Mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, pearloid dot inlays and a 1 11/16” nut. Vintage-style Gibson Deluxe double stripe tuners with ivoroid buttons, 24 ¾” scale length.

Pickups/Electronics: Gibson humbuckers in the neck and bridge with dual volume controls, a master tone controls and a 3-way selector switch.

Neck: 8.17K Ohms.

Bridge: 14.12K Ohms.

Weight: 7lbs, 4.0oz.

Playability/Sound: This is a great playing, great sounding Flying V. The pickups offer exceptional output with great note clarity whether clean or overdriven. The neck is extremely comfortable and suitable for any playing style. As stated earlier, production on the Flying V has currently ceased and it is unknown when production may begin again. This may be a great chance to purchase a guitar that may become difficult to find.

Case: Includes original hardshell case.
