What’s special about this guitar: This is a great sounding 1997 Gibson Blues Hawk with a super comfortable neck and a very light-weight design! Features include a semi-hollow body design with dual f-holes, varitone switch with a push/pull tone control to bypass the varitone circuit, a very comfortable neck with a rosewood fingerboard and pearloid diamond inlays and a great looking red finish. The semi hollow body allows the sound to open up a bit for a nice resonating sustain and the varitone switch gives the player the option to dial in a wide array of different sounds.
Condition: Very good shape overall. There are various scratches, small nicks, dings, dents and consistent checking throughout the guitar. The finish is chipping off around the upper bass side bout due to air bubbles created beneath the finish. There is a black spot on the back of the headstock above the serial number but the finish is not disrupted (see photos). The fingerboard and frets have only light play wear and tons of life left in them. The neck is very comfortable with great action and the truss rod functions perfectly. All electronics and parts are in perfect working condition.
Body: Semi-hollow body with a contoured maple back and bound maple top in translucent red finish. String-through-body design with six individual saddles. Dual skirted control knobs with silver inserts, a chicken head knob, sloder switch and dual f-holes.
Neck: Super comfortable and nicely rounded mahogany neck with a bound rosewood fingerboard. Pearloid diamond inlays and a 1 5/8” nut. Gibson Deluxe tuners with ivoroid buttons, 25.5” scale length.
Pickups/Electronics: Gibson P-90 pickups in the neck and bridge. Master volume control, push/pull master tone control for bypassing the varitone circuit, a varitone switch and a 3-way selector switch.
Neck: 10.42K Ohms.
Bridge: 10.41K Ohms.
