Description
What makes this guitar special: This is a nice and clean late 90s Jazz Bass in a killer color. The cut of ash used for the body shows great figuring to begin with, but looks that much better under a metallic-looking Crimson Burst finish. The deluxe configuration provides extra dynamic control with an active 3-band EQ that allows players to more thoroughly tailor their sound the way they see fit. In addition, it is still in great shape for being nearly two decades old, and comes with a great in-house setup from our techs so it will play great right out of the case.
Condition: This bass is in very good condition overall. It shows only minor dings, dents, and scratches, but is otherwise in great shape for a bass that’s nearly 20 years old. It even comes with the original control plate cover that details each control’s purpose and range. The frets show only light wear and still have a ton of playing time left in them. The neck is straight and the truss rod functions as it should.
Body: Double cutaway offset contoured ash body in Crimson Burst finish. 4-ply white pearloid pickguard. Black plastic control knobs. Fixed bridge with adjustable threaded barrel saddles.
Neck: Slim to medium depth D shape maple neck and maple fingerboard with black dot inlays. Fender chrome open-gear tuning machines with clover keys. 1 ½” nut width. 34” scale length.
Electronics: Fender Jazz Bass pickups. 1 x master volume, 1 x pickup blend, 1 x active stacked treble/bass boost/cut, 1 x active mid boost/cut control.
Weight: 8 lbs 13.4 oz
Playability/Sound: The D shape neck on this Jazz Bass has a bit more to it than most modern profiles, making it perfect for players who like the J-Bass sound, but like a little extra depth. The pickups sound great across the blend spectrum, and with the addition of the active 3-band EQ is quite a bit more versatile than standard versions.
Case: Original hardshell case.
