Description

What makes this guitar special: This is a great-playing Les Paul Classic with a slick Goldtop finish. The Gibson USA humbuckers sound absolutely fantastic in all three positions from the warm and full neck to the crispy bite of the bridge. The body weighs in under 9 pounds, making it lighter than most, and yet still maintains all of the traditional sustain LPs are known for. The cut of rosewood used for the fingerboard is nice and dark, providing great contrast against the cream rings and aged binding as well as a rich complement to the gold top and mahogany back. The neck plays easy and everything is in great working order, making this Goldtop a well-rounded player’s piece ripe for the picking.

Condition: This guitar is in good condition overall. It does have various nicks, dings, dents, chips, gauges, finish cracks, hardware oxidation, and scratches but is still in good shape for being nearly 20 years old. There is an area where some of the finish has been chipped away and caused other finish cracks on the bass side lower bout. The frets show only light to mild wear and still have a considerable amount of playing time left in them. The neck is straight and the truss rod functions as it should.

Body: Single cutaway, solid mahogany body with a bound carved maple top in Goldtop finish. Tune-o-matic bridge and stop bar tailpiece. Gold bell knobs with nickel indicators. Single-ply raised cream pickguard.

Neck: Medium to slim depth C shape mahogany neck and bound rosewood fingerboard with pearloid trapezoid inlays. Vintage-style deluxe tuning machines with cream keys. 1 11/16” nut width; 24 3/4" scale length.

Electronics: Gibson USA uncovered humbuckers in the neck and bridge. 2 x volume, 2 x tone controls. 3-way pickup selector.

Weight: 8 lbs 9.4 oz

Playability/Sound: The humbuckers in this Les Paul sound fantastic. The neck is warm, full, and smooth, and the bridge has the perfect amount of bite and articulation.

Case: Includes original hardshell case.
