Description

What makes this guitar special: Master luthier Mas Hirade joined Takamine in the late 1960s. He oversaw limited-production instruments built by a single luthier, some models by Hirade himself. Featuring a solid Cedar top and a nicely figured laminate Koa back and sides, this guitar has a very nicely rounded, warm tone with a crisp high end and tons of projection when pushed. A complete package, with a sound and appearance guaranteed to attract attention, this guitar also features a professional setup from our in house tech, so you know it play just as nicely.

Condition: The guitar is in excellent condition overall. It does display some light surface scratches and a few small dings in the common playing areas, but they are light and is otherwise very clean for a used instrument. The frets are in excellent shape and have plenty of playing life left. The neck is straight and the truss rod functions as it should.

Body: Classical-sized body with laminate Koa back and sides and 4-ply bound solid Cedar top in a high gloss natural finish. Inlaid abalone and red fiber rosette. Indian rosewood bridge with bone saddle and inlaid tie block.

Neck: 12 frets to the body Mahogany neck with a medium thickness U shape profile (.87” at the 1st fret, 1” at the 9th fret). Unbound ebony fingerboard with no front facing inlay, but has white side dot position markers. Slotted headstock with Koa head plate and gold tuners with pearloid-style buttons. 2” nut width and 25 5/8” scale length.

Weight: 3 lbs. 14.6 oz.

Playability/Sound: The medium thickness U shaped neck is very comfortable and easy to play. The 2 inch nut width and wider string spacing allows for easy chording in the first position as well as intricate single note playing without crowding your fingers. The Cedar top is incredibly responsive to the lightest fingerstyle playing, but can still produce a large amount of volume and projection when pushed. Paired with the Koa back and sides, this is one warm, full bodied sounding classical guitar with a crisp high end presence.

Case: Includes original hard shell case.
