Description
Condition: This is a great playing ASAT Classic. This is an earlier model featuring Leo Fender’s signature on the body. There are scratches, nicks, dings and dents throughout the instrument. There’s a larger ding on the lower bass side on top, some pick scratches on the pickguard and body and light surface scratches throughout the rest of the body and neck. There is some hazing in the laquer on the back likely caused by either moisture or a chemical reaction between the lacquer and the case. This is only visible under proper lighting. This guitar is very clean for its age! Fingerboard and frets have light play wear and plenty of life left in them. The neck is very straight overall. There is a bit of relief in the neck most prominent around the 12th fret on the bass side, but overall the neck is very straight and comfortable to play. The truss rod functions fine. There are a few extra screw holes on the bottom of the neck but this is typical of a G&L. All electronics and parts are in perfect working condition.
Body: Solid ash body in a cherry sunburst finish. Boxed-steel bridge with 6 individual saddles, knurled control knobs and a single-ply white metal pickguard. Leo fender’s name is on the upper bass side bout.
Neck: Slender maple neck with 3-bolt heel and neck tilt adjustment. Rosewood fingerboard, pearloid dot inlays and a 1 5/8” nut. G&L tuners, 25.5” scale length.
Pickups/Electronics: G&L MFD single-coil pickups in the neck and bridge with master volume and tone controls and a 3-way selector switch.
Neck: 4.69K Ohms.
Bridge: 5.04K Ohms.

Playability/Sound: This is really a great playing guitar! It is overall light-weight, extremely comfortable and the pickups sound phenomenal. The slender neck is perfect for players who prefer a slimmer neck profile and this particular guitar has a great transfer of vibration through the neck and body resulting in excellent sustain. This guitar is very clean for being over 20 years old.
Case: Includes original hardshell case and some original papers. All of the original papers may not be included. Please note the case does have a slightly musty odor that we have tried to clean out. It has partially come out but is still noticeable.
