Description
What makes this guitar special: Limited to a total of only 500 made, this gorgeous Custom Shop 35th Anniversary Strat celebrates Fender's iconic electric guitar with some special features, namely a nicely figured maple top, Silver Lace Sensor pickups & Eric Clapton preamp circuit. The birdseye maple neck is quite stunning & pairs well with the ebony fingerboard & abalone dot inlays. The guitar has been completely inspected & set up by the experts at Cream City Music, so she's ready for action straight out of the case!
Cosmetic Condition: Quite a bit of wear & tear actually - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches & some finish wear. It appears the previous owner had some type of MIDI pickup installed on the pickguard as evidenced by the two holes left behind. The bottom tone knob is much whiter than the other two & is most likely a replacement. Overall the guitar has a well-played look to it with an ultra cool vibe like it's been on the road a while.
Neck: Dark tinted maple neck with lots of gorgeous birdseye figuring. Ebony fingerboard with abalone dot inlays. Frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Brushed steel locking tuners are in perfect working condition. Custom Shop logo on the back of the headstock, also indicating this guitar is number 223 of 500. 1 11/16" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works just fine.
Body: Contoured, solid alder body in a translucent, dark cherry finish & a beautifully quilted maple top in a 3-tone sunburst finish. 2-point fulcrum tremolo bridge with adjustable saddles & 3-ply white pickguard. Guitar weighs 8 lbs 12 oz.
Pickups: Fender Silver Lace Sensors with master volume & dual tone controls. 5-way pickup selector switch & Clapton preamp circuit with 2-way mini toggle. All electronics are in good working condition.
Case: Newer Fender hardshell case included. Case is in great shape overall, although a portion of the right clasp is missing & therefore does not lock into place. The other clasps are fine.
