Description

What makes this guitar special: Fender’s response to the “Super Strats” produced by other makers in the late 80’s, the HM (Heavy Metal) Strat took classic design elements and modified them to suit the demands of players of the era. Sporting a super slim D shaped neck with a flat 16” fingerboard radius, this neck is tailor made for legato playing, but can suit a multitude of other styles and techniques as well. The DiMarzio pickup in the bridge is an absolute screamer, offering tons of output and clarity capable of standing out in any mix. The Lace Sensor pickup in the neck is no slouch either, and together the pickups are a formidable combination. Featuring a professional setup from our in-house technicians, this guitar is guaranteed to play great right out of the case.

Condition: The guitar is in good condition overall. It has its share of surface scratches, dents, dings, and chips, but is very reasonable for an instrument of its age. The frets display some light play wear, but still have tons of playing life left. The neck is straight and the truss rod functions just as it should.

Body: Double cutaway, contoured basswood body in Blue Metallic finish. 3-ply black pickguard, black top hat knobs and black pickup covers. Double-locking Kahler Spyder vibrato bridge. Asymmetrical 4-bolt contoured heel. Side mounted output jack.

Neck: Super slim D shape maple neck (.77” at the 1st fret, .80” at the 12th fret) with skunk stripe and 24 fret rosewood fretboard with white pearloid dot inlay and white side dots. Black headstock with large script style “Strat” logo. Black Gotoh sealed gear tuning machines. 1 5/8” locking nut. 25” scale length.

Electronics: Silver Lace Sensor single coil pickup in the neck position and a DiMarzio “Super 3” humbucker in the bridge. Master volume and Master tone controls. 3-way pickup selector toggle. Coil split toggle switch.

Neck: 7.1k ohms.

Bridge: 26.1k ohms

Weight: 7 lbs. 4.1 oz.

Playability/Sound: The super slim neck plays remarkably fast and chording and single note runs are very easy to perform. The Lace Sensor pickup offers a classic Fender tone, but with a higher output. The DiMarzio “Super 3” offers tons of output and clarity guaranteed to stand out in any mix.

Case: Includes original hard shell case
