Description
What makes this guitar special? This guitar and its specs come from a limited manufacturing period in the mid ‘80s that included the unique design of the System 1 tremolo bridge. Falling into a similarly unique time period of production in Japan, these guitars were generally only second in quality to the American-made counterparts. This Strat in particular carries an appropriately aged aesthetic where the finish and pickguard color remained similar to their original hues, whereas the neck, pickup covers, knobs, and switch tip have all aged a bit, giving an overall appearance of respectable tenure. The slim-medium round C shape maple neck will be familiar to any Fender players who have picked up a guitar in the last few decades, and will similarly provide familiarity and excellent playability.
Condition: Overall, this Stratocaster is in very good condition. It does have some small dings and dents throughout the body and neck, as well as some scratches (mostly surface) but is all in all still in good shape and plays great. The neck is straight, the truss rod functions as it should, and the frets show only light wear which still have a lot of life left in them.
Body: Contoured body in Candy Apple Red finish. 3-ply white pickguard, cream pickup covers, knobs, and switch tip. Fender System 1 tremolo bridge.
Neck: Slim-medium round C shape maple neck and fingerboard with black dot inlays. Fender sealed tuning machines. 1 5/8” nut width.
Electronics: 3 single-coil strat pickups. 1 master volume, 2 tone controls, 5-way pickup selector.
Neck: 5.72k Ohms
Middle: 5.67k Ohms
Bridge: 5.63k Ohms
Weight: 7 lbs 13.6 oz
Playability/Sound: The medium round C shape profile is comfortable up and down the neck. The pickups have the classic Strat mid-range and sound good in all 5 positions. Our techs have given this guitar a great setup so it plays that much better.
Case: No case included.
