Description

What makes this guitar special:  Made for only a short period of time in the early to mid '80s, this eye-catching Skyhawk has a futuristic look to it, not to mention it's a lefty!  Loaded with a pair of Guild X-79 humbuckers, this funky beast exudes an aura of cool.  Professionally set up by our luthier with fresh strings & low action, so it plays & sounds fantastic!

Cosmetic Condition:  A real road warrior with lots of wear & tear - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, weather checking & some buckle rash.  The long, treble-side point on the headstock broke off & was reattached some time time ago.  The horn was refinished, but not quite evenly matched with the original paint, so the texture is a bit rough.  It's a pretty good repair job, though & the point is very stable.  In fact, unless you were really looking for it, you might not even notice it at first glance.  There are two stress cracks in the finish on either side of the neck along the first couple of frets.  These are purely superficial & do not affect playability or sound quality.  Overall the guitar has a great, well-played look to it with a nice patina.

Neck:  Nicely rounded, slender profile mahogany neck with cream side-dots.  Ebony fingerboard with pearloid dot inlays.  Frets are in great shape with hardly any wear.  Sealed Guild tuners are in perfect working condition.  1 5/8" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length.  Neck is straight & truss rod is functioning.

Body:  Solid mahogany body with 4-ply black pickguard.  Stop tailpiece & adjustable bridge.  The bridge is the proper Guild bridge for this guitar, but it's not original since it's gold & not chrome.  Guitar weighs 6 lbs 6 oz.

Pickups:  Guild X-79 humbuckers.  Bridge - 8.27K ohms; Neck - 8.31K ohms.  Dual volume & master tone controls with black speed knobs; 3-way toggle switch.  All electronics are in good working condition.
