Description
What makes this banjo special: This is a solid vintage Washburn with modest appointments and great sound overall. It is pretty standard in terms of build but shows very nicely figured woods throughout, especially on its back. It plays well top to bottom and has a nice and clear response with good projection to boot. Plus, it’s a cool way to get into an edge-of-vintage piece without paying a ton.
Condition: This banjo is in very good condition overall. It does show various small dings, dents, chips, light scratches and some hardware tarnish but is still in great shape for a banjo that’s over 30 years old. The frets show only light wear and the truss rod is functioning.
Body: Bound walnut back, side, and rim. Nickel hardware. Wooden Grover bridge. Pot assembly is in good shape.
Neck: U/boat-shaped mahogany neck and bound rosewood fingerboard with pearloid split diamond inlays.. Sealed tuning machines with white pearloid buttons.
Weight: 7.10 lbs
Playability/Sound: The neck is a comfortable and familiar shape and the body is relatively light for a closed-back banjo at just over seven pounds. It has good projection and overall clarity with nice mid-range punch.
Case: Includes chipboard case.
