Description
What makes this guitar special? This Guild F-40 is just plain gorgeous in every facet. Its original Blonde finish has matured into a deeper, honey-like hue. The few marks it does have denote its tenure as an instrument that was well-loved and yet taken good care of. The beautifully figured arched maple back and jumbo profile provide a fantastic amount of projection of its chime-rich tone and an overall dynamic that has aged as gracefully as its aesthetic.
Condition: This Guild F-40 is in very good condition overall, especially for being over 40 years old. It does have some marks that come with being played for decades like finish cracking, dings, dents, and scratches throughout the body, but is still very clean for its age. The neck is straight and the truss rod functions as it should. The frets show only light wear and still have quite a bit of life left in them.
Body: Bound jumbo body composed of a solid spruce top, arched maple back and maple sides. Multi-ring rosette. Single ply black pickguard. Rosewood bridge.
Neck: Three-piece mahogany/maple/mahogany neck with medium round profile. Bound rosewood fingerboard with pearloid block inlays. Grover tuning machines. 1-11/16” nut width.
Weight: 5 lbs 10.8 oz
Playability/Sound: This is a fantastic sounding Guild. The spruce top combined with maple back and sides produces a nice chime-y tone with healthy breath and body, while the jumbo profile provides tons of projection. The medium round neck is comfortable for a variety of playing styles up and down the neck.
Case: Original Guild hardshell case included.
