Description
Condition: This is a great sounding player’s grade guitar! The body was refinished in black with some overspray. Various surface scratches, nicks, dings, dents and some lacquer hazing on the back. There are a few hairline cracks on the back that are showing no movement or separation and are staying in place just fine (see photos). The bass side top brace was loose and our master luthier re-glued it. A new bone nut was also made. There is some unevenness in the center seam of the back of the neck but this is merely cosmetic. The sides of the headstock show some light separation but are holding together fine (see photos). There is a split in the headstock overlay but this is only cosmetic. Tuners are unoriginal and original screw holes were covered but are still partially visible. Fingerboard and frets have moderate play wear and plenty of life left in them. The neck is very straight with comfortable, low action. Note: This model does not have a truss rod. The bigsby is a newer model and some additional holes were drilled in the bottom. The original screw holes were covered. Neck strap button screw hole is covered and bottom strap button is unoriginal. There are some very small finish cracks near the input jack. All electronics and parts are in excellent working condition.
Body: Double bound hollow body with maple top, back and sides in black finish. Bigsby tailpiece, rosewood-based space control bridge, dual “F’ holes, Gretsch Arrow knobs and a single-ply black pickguard.
Neck: Maple neck with bound rosewood fingerboard, pearloid block inlays and a 1 11/16” nut. Vintage Grover Rotomatic tuners, 25.5” scale length.
Pickups/Electronics: DeArmond pickup in the neck with master volume and tone controls.
Pickup: 9.73K Ohms.
Weight: 6lbs, 7.5oz.
Playability/Sound: This is an all-around great sounding guitar. The neck position DeArmond pickup sound awesome with the hollow body and the black finish gives the guitar a very sharp and classy look. The action is very comfortable up and down the neck and ideal for any playing style.
