Description
Condition: Very good! This is a highly rare, vintage Hawaiian guitar in great shape for its age! Various scratches and blemishes throughout the metal body. Plastic parts have some scratches and scuffs all of which add to this instrument’s vintage vibe. The neck has a back bow but being a slide guitar, it does not affect the playability. The strap button on the bottom is unoriginal, otherwise all electronics and parts are original and in perfect working condition. Note: This guitar requires an amphenol cable to be plugged in which is not included. This would be available at most online parts stores.
Body: Metal body with white and black celluloid cover plate, metal bridge and pickup cover, dual Bakelite control knobs and dual “F” holes in either shoulder of the body.
Lower Bout: 13” wide x 3 ¼” deep.
Upper Bout: 9 5/8” wide x 2 15/16” deep.
Neck: Square wood neck with black Bakelite fingerboard, white inlays with Roman Numeral fret markers and a 1 7/8” nut. Nickel National tuners, 23” scale length.
Pickups/Electronics: Original National pickup with master volume and tone controls.
Pickup: 1.84K Ohms.
Weight: 8lbs, 1.0oz.
Playability/Sound: This is a phenomenal sounding guitar. It is designed as a hollow metal body slide guitar and it sounds excellent. The hollow body offers an open sound that still has plenty of attack and brightness thanks to its metal construction. It is highly comfortable as a lap steel guitar. This is also a very rare model that was only offered between 1937 and 1939. It is the first of its kind we’ve had in the shop.
Case: Includes original hardshell case.
