Description
Condition: This is a great sounding vintage steel guitar with plenty of character. Various scratches, nicks, dings, dents, chips, weather checking and a gorgeous patina give this instrument an authentic vintage vibe. The body “wings” are slightly loose but are staying in place just fine. There is some damage exposing the bare wood on the lower treble side of the body. This was likely due to impact. Some of the finish has worn away on the edges of the instrument from normal use and play wear. The felt bottom has completely worn off. The tuning buttons have been replaced and one tuning machine is unoriginal. The nut is unoriginal but is solid brass and a decent upgrade. Newer Rare Earth Magnets have been installed in the pickup resulting in a gorgeous tone. The original magnet is included in the case along with some old screws.
Body: Solid neck through body design with center piece finished in white and the side wings finished in black. The bottom center extends and has a National logo plaque. Nickel tailpiece/bridge, white plastic control plates with one circular control knob and one chicken head knob. Black Bakelite pickup cover.
Neck: Square neck with beveled edges, black fingerboard with totem pole fret markers and plexy overlay and a 2 ¼” brass nut. Slotted peg head with Kluson Deluxe Single Stripe tuners, one unoriginal tuner and a black Bakelite cover.
Pickups/Electronics: Original single coil pickup with newer Rare Earth Magnets. Controls include master volume and a 3-way tone selector. This lap steel requires an amphenol cable to be plugged in. One is included in the case along with some extra accessories.

Playability/Sound: This is a great sounding lap steel guitar with an awesome vintage sound and feel. The newer Rare Earth Magnets provide some extra dynamics to the pickup and the 3-way tone switch allows the player to dial in anything from a bright sound with plenty of “twang” to a warm, Hawaiian tone. The 8-string configuration is great for various different tunings.
Case: Includes original hardshell case. Some areas of the case covering are ripped or torn including the leather handle. The top and back are also separating but are still holding together (see photos). All latches are in good working shape.
